The A-List Standard: Frequently Asked Questions
What areas do you serve?
We focus exclusively on high-end landscape transformations throughout the East Bay, with a primary focus on Alamo, Walnut Creek, Danville, and Concord. This local focus ensures we can provide the high level of on-site project management and being familiar with local codes.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. We are a fully licensed and insured C-27 Landscaping Contractor. We carry comprehensive general liability to ensure your property are fully protected throughout the entire design and construction process.
How much experience does A-List Landscape have?
Our roots in the East Bay contracting industry go back to 1986, when the family business was first founded by my father. In 2021, we revamped the company as A-List Landscape to bridge that decades-long foundation of field expertise with modern 3D design technology. When you hire us, you are getting 40 years of local knowledge paired with the latest in design innovation.
When is a 3D design actually necessary?
A design is essential when you are changing the layout, starting with a blank canvas, or seeking a complete transformation. If you are simply refreshing or replacing existing elements while keeping the same layout, a full 3D plan may not be required. However, for any structural changes, a 3D design acts as the architectural blueprint to ensure 100% accuracy.
What is the difference between an online remote design and an in-person assessment?
Landscape construction is a physical investment that requires a physical presence. While online firms focus on pretty gardens, they often overlook how you actually plan to use your yard and the technical realities of the land. We believe in the standard of paying once, which is why we physically walk your property to assess current site conditions, soil types, and elevations, details a remote designer simply cannot see.
What services do you NOT offer?
While we provide comprehensive landscape design and construction, we do not install pool shells/mechanical equipment.
I already have landscape plans, are you able to provide a bid for the construction?
Yes. If you already have professional architectural plans, we can review them to provide a precise construction bid. We will schedule an on-site visit to verify the measurements and site conditions before submitting our proposal to ensure our "A-List" quality standards are met throughout the build.
How should I prepare for my on-site visit?
To help us make the most of our time together, we recommend a few simple steps:
-
Define Your Goals: Think about how you want to use the space (e.g., entertaining, play area, or a quiet retreat).
-
Gather Inspiration: Have photos or a "mood board" ready of styles, plants, or features you love.
-
Know Your Budget: Having a general budget range in mind helps us suggest the best materials and solutions for your project.
-
Have Documents Ready: If you have a property survey or plot plan, please have it available to help us identify property lines and easements.
-
Clear the Area: Ensure we have easy access to the yard and that pets are safely secured indoors.
Can you please provide three references from previous clients?
To ensure the absolute privacy and security of our homeowners, we do not provide personal contact information or addresses of previous clients. However, we encourage you to view our extensive gallery of completed projects and read our verified reviews from satisfied customers online to see the quality of our work firsthand.
